When the worldwide pandemic hit in March 2020, countless students found themselves battling with the uncertainty of the future. As in-person internships were no longer an option, some companies began to offer replacement virtual internships while others cancelled their programs altogether. Many students were left without internships and scrambling to find replacements.

Every student is familiar with the standard multiple-choice final exam given at the end of almost every course. While these exams can measure the level of understanding of a student to a certain extent, it is easy to wonder if the material covered will really apply to life after college. Dr. Jeff Jenkins took this problem and created an interactive, hands-on final to prepare students for the future. In Fall 2019, he created an escape room for the final exam of his course.

If you have taken IS 303 or been in the IS Core, then you have probably taken a class from Dr. Greg Anderson. Due to his excellence and contributions to the IS Department, Dr. Greg Anderson was awarded the Cherrington Faculty Service Award for 2019.
