BYU Marriott Dean Brigitte Madrian recently announced that effective May 18th, Dr. Steve Liddle has been named the new chair of the Information Systems Department.

“Steve has served capably for the last seventeen years with the Rollins Center, which began as the Rollins eBusiness Center and later merged with the BYU Center for Entrepreneurship. For the last eleven years he has been the academic director of the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology,” stated Dean Madrian.

She continued, “With this new assignment, he will be transitioning out of his role in the Rollins Center. We are grateful for his many, many years of service there, and we are excited to see the wonderful work and innovations that will be created by the Department of Information Systems under Steve’s leadership.”

Dr. Liddle has a passion for software and startups and has used that to help students while at BYU. He has been a professor in the IS department for the last 25 years and has most recently taught courses in mobile app development. In 2019, he received the Outstanding Faculty Award by BYU Marriott.

Dr. Liddle will take over from former department chair, Dr. Bonnie Anderson, who has recently been appointed as Associate Dean of the BYU Marriott School of Business. We express gratitude for the great things Dr. Anderson has done for the IS Department and congratulate Dr. Liddle as he steps into this new role.
