Domo Data Analytics Hackathon Recap

On February 21-22, AIS partnered with Domo and Weave to host the Domo Data Analytics Hackathon. Participating teams were provided a dataset and analytics challenge by Weave Friday afternoon. Each team was given 24 hours to work on their analytics utilizing Domo software and presented Saturday morning to a panel of judges, who then selected the winners.

The hackathon enabled students to utilize what they have learned in school in a real-world situation. Even without previous experience using Domo software and using a dataset they had never seen before, participants were able to use and develop their skills in data cleaning, analytics, visualization and dashboard creation to solve a complex problem. Additionally, students gained valuable experience in critical thinking and public presentation by participating in the event. Competitions such as this hackathon are invaluable experiences that are crucial to the full development of a Marriott School of Business student.

Two winning teams were selected and each received $1000, Domo software licenses and passes to Domopalooza Live. Additionally, all participants were entered into a raffle to win Weave swag.
